GoRecess Studio Spotlight: Pop Physique; Baltimore, MD

11.01.2012

Types of classes offered: Pop Physique is the intoxicating barre workout from Los Angeles, designed to sculpt your entire body in one hour. Pop Physique's trademark Pop Sculpt class blends the use of light weights, a playground ball, and a ballet barre to strengthen and lengthen the body. Quick visible results include long, lean muscles, flat abs, and a tight bum. Pop Physique's classes will help you increase your energy, raise your metabolic rate, and clear your mind.

What makes it unique and why you should try it: Newly opened Pop Physique Baltimore is located on historic North Charles Street in the heart of Baltimore and features the trademark Pop Physique modern aesthetic.  The studio offers classes daily in the mornings and evenings, and all of the instructors were trained by LA Master Instructor Stephanie Farrell. New clients can get their first 30 days of unlimited classes for $100!

Pop Physique is about the experience. The music is so important to the workout and they really work to create playlists that define that experience, treating every playlist and each class as a performance piece.  They have over one hundred different playlists, featuring everything from a hyped-up party soundtrack to cinematic pieces composed exclusively for Pop Physique.

Advice for first-timers: Pop Physique's boutique studio space and small class sizes help foster a sense of community and helps make clients feel comfortable and have fun while they’re working out. The best advice for beginners is to take it slow. The class is intense, but it can also be modified to various fitness levels, and can even be taken while pregnant! Pop Physique's instructors are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable to help new and returning clients to get the most out of class, regardless of what their fitness level or limitations may be.

What they love about Baltimore: West Coast owners chose Baltimore after falling in love with the energy of the city, the mix of architecture, rough edges, and most of all, charm.
